Event: A carefree fun-filled
Saturday skate tour on the most spectacular paved trail
in Minnesota. It offers an extraordinary 10 or 20 mile
skate from either Cannon Valley to Red Wing
or Welch Village to Red Wing. We
provide friendly guides, van support, optional instruction,
snacks. Bring your friends!
Description: Minnesota
pathways have earned respect from veteran and traveled
skaters naming Minnesota one of the top ten places to
skate in the country. Join Robichon's on one of the
finest and most scenic paved pathways in Minnesota;
The Cannon Valley Trail. The trail offers exceptionally
smooth surfaces with spectacular scenery of forest groves,
streams and overhanging cliffs near Cannon Falls.

The abandoned railroad bed turned trails, follows a comfortable
downhill grade into the quaint town of Red Wing our final destination.
It is here we will eat lunch. Skaters have the option of skating
20 miles from Cannon Valley to Red Wing or 10 miles
from Welch Village (another compelling town) to Red Wing. Our
highly trained instructor guides can assist you with skating
technique and terrain negotiation or simply skate with you.
Participants do not have to skate along side the guides as they
are free to roam at their own pace. You may skate with the guides
or on your own! Time permitting, skaters are free to roam the
local attractions in Red Wing including the famous St. James
Hotel or Bay Point Park!.

Where We Meet: We begin our journey at Dick's (formerly Galyan's
Sports and Outdoor Adventure) in Richfield at 9:00am.
It is here we will greet you in front of Galyan's in
our passenger van. After loading your gear, we then
begin our approximately 45 minute drive to Cannon Falls.
It is here we will drop off the 20 mile skaters and
instructor guide. We will grab our gear and snacks,
pay our $3 trail fee and begin our enjoyable skate to
Red Wing. We then drive to Welch where we drop off our
10 mile skaters.

Anticipated Arrival Times: Cannon Valley 10:15am and
Welch Village 10:45am. Red Wing 12:00 - 12:30pmMeals: We provide all lemonade, water and snacks along
our chosen route. We have scheduled lunch when skaters arrive
in Red Wing between 12 and 12:30pm. You are welcome to eat
with the group or free to roam on your own!Where We Finish: We finish in Red Wing At 4:00p.m.
by loading our passenger van and returning you to Dick's
Sports. We are scheduled to arrive in
Dick's Parking lot at 5:00pmGetting There: If you are interested in meeting us
at the Cannon Valley Trail, we drop in so to speak at 10:15am.
Take Hwy 52(South) to 29(South) into Cannon Falls. From Rochester,
take 52(North) to 24(North) into Cannon Falls. Follow signs
to trailhead.Provided In The Tour: local van support (shuttle),
snacks/water, optional instruction, our professional guides.
What to Bring: pack lightly bringing only the necessities.
Recommended items are fanny pack for skate tools, small snacks
and water, sun lotion and glasses, helmet and wrist guards
(minimum), comfortable skates with glide potential, raingear
(yikes) walking shoes for visiting small towns or taking a
break.
Skill Recommendations: This trip is recommended for
advanced beginner skaters up to advanced who can stop, slow
and skate at least 6 miles with some ease. If you are concerned
about your preparedness, we strongly recommend taking ROBICHON'S Outdoor Skate Basics and Trail Skating Basics. If you are not local, we recommend Robichon's Minnesota Skate Camp. Price of Tour: $69 for one, $128 for 2,(save $10)
or $256 for 4 (save $20)Other Fees: one of the reasons Cannon Valley Trail
is top notch, is a result of its $3 wheel pass users fee payable
onsite. Please bring $3.00 for the pass.
