Baker Park Reserve, Medina, Minnesota
Description: 6.23 miles. This inline skating trail is an ideal intermediate skill and fitness skate. With its smooth asphalt and incessant medium size hills, Baker park is pristine for anaerobic training exercise, sport specific muscular strength and power development as well as practicing hill skating techniques learned in Robichon's® Outdoor Skate BasicsT curriculum.
Although all skills learned can be applied, Robichon's skills most specifically engaged on this trail are levels 3 and 4 intermediate slowing and stopping techniques. Modified Striding to negotiate terrain is also refined and engaged.
Robichon's® Skill Ability recommendations: Robichon's® recommends proficiency in our OSB Level 1 and 2 skills. Skaters' who can stop, start and turn with ease on flats and down mild slopes, understand and can perform Robichon's® stabilizerT, defensive skate positionT, their heel pump stopT and are able to perform the quick stopT are set up for maximum safety and success.
Robichon's® Fitness Recommendations: For Baker Park Reserve, Robichon's® recommends skaters can skate at least 12 miles on beginner inline skate trails with some ease. These beginner trails have fairly smooth skateable asphalt with minor blemishes and offer mild hills.
Getting There: The reserve is located about 20 miles west of downtown Minneapolis on County Road 19. From Highway 12, take County Road 29 north to County Road 19, and follow County Road 19 north to the main park entrance. The park entrance is approximately ½ mile north of Dairy Queen on Cty Rd. 19. - That is so we can use it for extra curricular activities - and discover what types of fats we should Avoid during training season --- only ; ).
From Highway 55 turn south on County Road 19, and follow County Road 19 to the main entrance.

Meeting Place: We will meet you at the main entrance parking lot on Hwy 19. Parking fees apply. An alternate option is parking on the residential streets and walking or rolling to the park's main entrance.
