I have been working on the drills and so forth you showed me last week- spent a couple of one hour sessions doing nothing but. Then put the techniques to the test last Sunday during our weekly hill workout.

We normally do 4 laps, each being 6-7 miles. Lap one is easy, social, warmup. Lap 2, we turn up the intensity. Lap 3 has always been "chase Howard" - he is the fastest guy in the group, and this is where the rest of us get dropped. Sunday was the first time ever that he did not drop me, and my effort did not feel overwhelming. Plus my time was 5-6 minutes faster than ever, so Howie was not sandbagging.
